~Celebrate America Weekend~

This last weekend was the Drigg's Celebrate American Event. I personally think that it is way better than even the 4th of July show that Idaho Falls does on the 4th, so I was really excited that we decided to go this year. We went two years ago and had a ball, so our expectations were high. We weren't going to head to Driggs until about 3, so Rob actually woke up early on Saturday, and got to work. He recently bought a wrecked Ford Ranger. Yes, that does make for 3 useless trucks that we now have on our property. However, he is going to swap out the body on this wrecked one for the body on our old tan Ranger since this one still ran fine, the kid had just rolled it, and ours had a great body still, we just totally killed the transmission and stuff. Once it is done he will either sell it (the original plan) or else keep it as a fun mudding and adventure truck (his new and improved plan). Either way I told him it just had to be done before baby got here, so he was eager to start. He only spent about 3 hours on the truck, but I think he made quite a dent in those three hours. Somehow we forgot to get a pic of it before he started, but I was way impressed with how much he got done, especially since Weston followed him the entire time and waited for him to put a tool down just so Weston could pick it up, bang it on the truck, and move it to Weston's "secret tool pile." Poor Rob patiently spent a lot of time trying to find Weston's piles of tools that he needed. It was so ridiculously cute!! We got to Driggs around 4:30 and had a lot of choices of where to sit and stake out territory. However, by 7 we had to confine Weston to the size of our blanket for roaming space because there were so many people there. Weston was in heaven the whole day running around and getting into everything that he shouldn't. We got to see the beach boys perform, and the fireworks finally started around 10. The poor kid was exhausted but was so excited to see the "fire-erks." He was ecstatic when they finally started, and about half way through he crawled up on Rob's lap, cuddled into him and said "night-night." He is SO NOT A CUDDLER...EVER. Rob definitely soaked it up as Weston watched the rest of show out of the corner of his eye while he cuddled with his daddy. Seriously adorable. We got all loaded up after the show and the kid was asleep before we even pulled out of our parking space. I'd say all in all, it was a HUGE success :)

This is close to what it looked like originally; just put the hood, grill, doors and windows back on :)

less then 3 hours later!

There were kind of... A LOT of people there!

The kid was so sleepy that only taking pictures would keep him pacified

Playing in the Rain

My boy is a water baby like none other. He loves bath time, loves playing in pools, just gets excited when he sees water in general. The other day there was an awesome thunder storm, and he got so excited. As soon as it started raining he was begging me to play outside. I decided to give Rob a little quiet to do some homework, so we bundled up and headed outside. That boy didn't miss a beat before he ran to the biggest puddle he could find, jumped in it, and then started trying to splash me with it. Yes, he is his fathers son :) Here are just a few of the hundreds of pictures that I took.

He only got...completely soaked

This is him "shaking his bum" at me. His new favorite thing to do.

Fathers Day Weekend

This year for the fathers day weekend we decided to first go to the Air Show in Rexburg on Saturday morning. We got there right after 8 in the morning, and it was freezing! Then it warmed up, then it started freezing again, and so on. Pretty sure we got colds, and sun burns all from the same event. Gotta love Idaho weather I guess. Rob and Weston were pretty much in heaven the ENTIRE time. The show was amazing, and we had a blast. After the air show we hung out with Ayden, Lynzi and Davis. That evening Rob went shooting with the guys.

Nate and his family even made it for a little bit

Mi Familia

Sunday we really had no plans. Rob got woken up to Weston singing his name and showing him his fathers day present (a bench grinder) and then we made hashbrowns and sausage, our traditional weekend breakfast. That afternoon we decided to go for a drive and have a little picnic. We went into Wolverine Canyon and it was BEAUTIFUL. It was so much fun, and so nice to just all be together.

I am so thankful to have such an amazing man that is my kids daddy. He is the foundation of our whole world, and Weston loves him more than anything. I know our new little peanut will love him just as much!

The Park

I L.O.V.E. SUMMERTIME. A lot. It is the apple to my eye. I am determined to make sure Weston has a blast this summer, and not get distracted with my job, and homework, and pregnancy, and everything else. So we have started with some traditions already like the zoo, library, and park. The park is one of this absolute favorites. He loves the slide, the hills, and the chance to RUN.
This is the best before and after's I could find of the chunks hair cut. He looks like a completely different kid every time we buzz his head, but he sure loves not downing in all the sweat from the thick dark mop of hair...

They make my world go round

And finally, this is what happens when he plays all day with Nana and "Gop-Ga". First time EVER falling asleep in the high chair.
