Thank you Secret Santa

This year we have had the amazing privilege of having a Secret Santa. I have never had a Secret Santa before, and on the first day I was really excited at the cute scarfs that Rob, Weston, and I got (yes, they made Weston a scarf! Holy CUTENESS!!!!) along with a few pieces to what I assumed would become a full nativity set. As the days have continued we have realized more and more just how much effort, thought, and time has gone into these cute little baskets that we get everyday. Every single day has a new theme, with a cute little card of sayings, quotes, or thoughts. Yesterday as we were talking about how much fun this has been, we've realized just how blessed we are, and it humbled us quite a bit. We definitely have the bad habit of using Christmas as an excuse to buy all the fun toys we don't feel justified in buying ordinarily,  we don't even waiting until Christmas to play with those toys, and then don't really get to feel the true Christmas spirit and love when Christmas does actually come around. As we realized all the effort that was going into these Secret Santa gifts every single day, it really made us remember the true meaning of Christmas. Yes, at first I was just excited to have a Secret Santa and excited to see what the new basket would have in it each day, (and I would be lying if I said I wasn't still excited for that, you have no idea how cute some of these gifts are) but now it has so much more meaning as we have realized not only what a blessing this has been for us, but also the sacrifice that it must be for the people doing it. It fills our hearts with love and gratefulness, and although I wish DESPERATELY that we knew who was doing it so that we could express this love to them personally, I am hoping that this blog (assuming they even read it) will at least let them know that we truly do appreciate it so much, and they have reminded us what the purpose of Christmas is, filling our home with the Christmas spirit more than it ever has been before. So in short, thank you Secret Santa. We love you so much and we hope that you have just as an amazing of a Christmas as you have given us :)

10 Weeks and a Little Bit :)

Oh my goodness Weston is getting SO HUGE! He is now weighing in at 11 lbs 6 oz and is still super healthy and happy! We seriously don't know how we lucked out with such an amazing baby. On his bad nights he sleeps 7 straight hours, good nights it's more like 9 or 10 hours. He puts himself to sleep at night all by himself, we just put him in his pack n play and he'll talk and coo for a little bit, get tired, and just fall asleep. No crying or whining. He's usually a VERY happy baby and we are just soaking it up! I got him to really laugh for the first time on Monday and it was so dang cute because he wasn't sure what it was and kind of freaked him out a little bit :P He loves to hear himself talk to he'll coo and talk for a long time just entertaining himself :) Like I said, I'm still amazed that we have such an amazing baby!

Pumpkin Patch

Weston's first big fun outing was to the pumpkin patch here in Idaho Falls where we got to pick 4 pumpkins for 20 bucks. It was SO much fun, Weston was wide awake for the whole thing, and we got some really good pumpkins! We've carved 2 so far, one was Weston's and one was Rob's. We want to hollow one out and put Weston in it and take pics, but that hasn't happened quite yet. It was so much fun being able to go with Weston, and we're excited to make it an every year tradition!
He liked his ride in the little cart :)

Chilling with the pumpkins :P

Baby Blessing and a Hard Goodbye

Weston got blessed last Sunday! Normally babies get blessed when they are a little older, on a fast Sunday, and in their own ward...but we went against all the norm this time! My little brother Brady was having his farewell, and we decided it would be really neat to do a combined day for Weston and Brady, so we did! It was such a cool experience! Weston got blessed, Brady spoke, and Rob, my dad, and Mike all sang a song. It was SO neat. Afterwards was craziness at my parents house but it was really fun. Sadly, because of all the craziness, we forgot to take pics! SO SO sad, but I am starting to get over it.

Then on Wednesday, Weston and I took the journey with my family to drop Brady off at the MTC. Rob had to work and was so bummed that he had to miss it, but we decided we should go nonetheless. Let's just say that was one of the hardest things to do EVER. I'm still playing denial that Bady is actually gone, but at the same time I am so glad that he has this opportunity. He is definitely missed, but we know that this is what he is supposed to be doing right now :)

Here are pics of Uncle Bady and Weston, Weston in his blessing outfit, and the ride down to Utah.

4 Weeks Old!!!

Has it really been 4 weeks already?! Seriously??? Wow time really does fly! Weston is doing great, weighing in at 9 lbs 9 oz! He is definitely a growing boy! He is growing every single day, and we are just soaking it up!        Here's some new pics and a video :)

Ok let me explain this next pic, Rob has talked about getting to shower with Weston when he's a bit older. I was kind of thrown by this at first because my family never did anything like it, but it is huge tradition in Rob's family. Well Weston...lets say don't love bath time. I think it's because I'm trying to balance him, get him soaped up, not drop anything...it's just really intense and kind of traumatizing for both of us. So Rob was in the shower the other day and I was telling him about this, and he was like "well, give him to me." I was kind of planning on disaster, but Weston LOVED it. No cries, no wimpers, was totally content to hang with dad in the shower! Haha kinda beyond cute, so I documented. It's not weird...it's cute :)
