Crafts

Well things have been crazy this new year. I am on my off track of school, and I had no idea how badly I needed this break. It has been SO nice. Rob is working full time, plus odd and end jobs, and started his first semester back at school. To say his life has been a bit crazy would be the understatement of the century. But it's been nice with me being off, because I've been able to help him a bit as he gets used to the online classes.
Since Rob has been so busy lately I've been trying to find hobbies to keep myself entertained (you know, when I'm not running around like a crazy lady trying to keep up with a one year old). I am loving that I can read books again, but at the same time it's frustrating because I only get a few hours a day to read, which is hard when I'm more of a "sit down and don't move until the book is over" kind of reader. But I'm managing. The other thing that I have been doing is wood crafts! Yay wood crafts! My mom bought me and my sisters crafts from a wood craft store in town and we all took an evening to do them. It was SO MUCH FUN! Here's a pic of my final product..

After that was finished I figured I should probably take on the wooden Christmas tree advent calendar that my mom bought me 3 years ago. That was a bit bigger of a project, and because I decided to make it harder then it should have been, it took awhile to finish. Here's a pic of that one too..

See the numbers on there? Ya, I cut those out of velvet scrapbook paper... worst idea ever! I had blisters by the time I was done, but I think it turned out alright in the end.
Now when Christmas comes around again I'm going to buy little miniature ornaments to put inside, and a tiny little tree that we can decorate throughout the month :)

Other than that we have just been trying to survive the winter! As soon as it snows one more time really good we are going to take Weston on his first ever sledding adventure. Should be exciting :) This is the first time all season I'm anxious for snow. After the adventure is complete however, I would greatly appreciate it if the snow would promptly melt, and we could enjoy some 70 degree weather! Please. And Thank you. :)
