Fall Festivities

As soon as the leaves started changing colors, Weston has been begging to go collect leaves. We did it last year, and it apparently left quite the impression. I'm glad that it's stayed to warm to much longer than usual, because it did take us forever to finally make it out to play in the leaves. Although I planned on having us walk all over the park and get different kinds of leaves, the boys found the first huge leaf pile they could, and were quite content to stay there for hours. Endless fun for them, and awesome naps afterwards made for a very successful day ;)

We also went on our last family jeep adventure this last weekend. Nothing crazy, just up into the hills to go shooting. Not sure how we're going to fit 3 kids in the back of the jeep, so I felt like I needed on last official trip before I was done jeep riding for a bit. While we were out I snapped these pics on my phone. I am so thankful that these two have each other and love each other so much. I cannot wait for them to have another brother to play with soon too!

And finally, my amazing husband got these shelves built in our garage this last weekend as well. He is SO AMAZING. It's been on our list to do forever, but we figured getting it done before baby would be best. Yeah, he's incredible.

And last but not least, Weston discovered that when mommy says don't run in the house, it really is for his safety. Miraculously this didn't bruise at all, and is basically completely gone already. Gotta love essential oils :)

Pumpkin Patch & Halloween 2016

Have I ever said fall is my favorite time of year?! Pretty sure I say it every year... but it's true! The weather, the colors, the activities, it's just perfect! And this year did not disappoint. As soon as I told Weston it was fall he wouldn't stop asking about going to the pumpkin patch. He was SO excited to go back, and I love that he is now remembering our traditions and is excited to do them with us each year. So, the pumpkin patch was a must!

We recently bought the Peanuts Movie, so when I told Weston he could pick how I carved the pumpkin, this was a must!
Rob's pumpkin, amazing as always :)

As for Halloween, we were debating on going to Boo at the Zoo, or if we wanted to try something new, but Weston wouldn't stop talking about it, and was so excited to see the lights and all the other kids, so Boo at the Zoo it was! And it didn't disappoint ;)
Originally the boys were going to be tigers, that's what Weston wanted to do, but we walked by the Star Wars costumes at the store, and nothing else was going to be good enough. I love my little nerds :D

Mud Fights and Little Boys

So this last week we've been getting random rain. Honestly I am loving it! Usually by this time of year the moisture would be snow, so the rain is so refreshing, and is making fall last even longer! Last Saturday it was raining pretty well, so after the afternoon session of conference, we decided to go out and have a dance party in the rain. The boys were LOVING it. And then Rob suggested they play in the mud. Both of my OCD boys were a little hesitant (Weston definitely more so than Colton) but they got into it pretty quick. I had to go inside, because my mom reflexes were going crazy. But those boys played out there for over half an hour, and Rob had to literally drag them in when it was time to be done. They loved it. And now every time it starts raining Westons asks all excitedly if we can go have a mud fight. Sorry buddy... that one is saved for daddy time. ;)

September recap

This last month has been such a blur! Between elk season, prepping for deer season, and trying our hand at bear hunting, it has been busy and fun! School has started back up, Rob and I are both still working like crazy, and we are all just trying to get out and enjoy life while the weather is still decent!

The beginning of September we went elk hunting. Although I didn't get one :( We were blessed enough to have Rob get his on the second day of the hunt. Now we get to see him more, and got another 100 + pounds of meet in the fridge. Yay!

Once we got the elk taken care of, it was off for much adventuring to find a good bear hunting spot. Honestly, this was such a blast. The boys loved the jeep rides, and the fall colors were so pretty!!!

Although taking the boys with us to set up the bait stand probably wasn't our smartest move (over 200 pounds of donuts and desserts, plus the two boys up and down a mountain... not super fun) They still had a blast.

Other happenings this month, :)

we attempted story time at the library. Although Colton looks totally absorbed, this was the only time he actually held still the whole time :/

Rob built this bench for me in just a few hours so that I actually have somewhere to sit in the backyard while the kids play.

Weston has graduated to BB gun. He thought it was the coolest thing ever! He loved the dad time, and thought getting to shoot a "real" gun was awesome. :)

And a picture of a picture of baby... because seriously, he's already adorable!
 Less than two months left!
